31st, July 2009 by Mel WebsterWord Soup is Preston’s live lit night and this month’s was bigger than ever. Not only was it part of the Preston Tringe Festival and recorded for Preston FM and Diversity FM, but it had the biggest turn out so far. If you weren’t able to make it, here’s what you missed… The night kicked off with Sally Murray, a musician from Manchester, who wowed [...]

30th, July 2009 by Ed WalkerI’m not sure how to describe this show. It’s billed as a mix of experimental performance with disco-funk classics, well for a start there isn’t much disco-funk. It’s definitely one of the most out there performances of the Preston Tringe Festival. The show felt a bit like a radio show. There were lots of short sketches, interspursed with introductions from Cliff Laine and the odd [...]

26th, July 2009 by Ed WalkerThe Preston Tringe Festival continued with the opening night of The Double-Headed Penny Farthing, a Sherlock Holmes adventure, by Robert Black. It was a short but sweet whizz through a mystery that Holmes and Watson are able to solve from the comfort of their flat in Baker Street.
Post a commentReview: The Harpy and the Slob @ Adelphi
24th, July 2009 by Ed WalkerThe second of the Preston Tringe Festival opening night double header was the very enjoyable ‘The Harpy and the Slob’ by Leonard Morley. After the seven characters of Waiting in Soho this was another play that happened in just one location, a bedroom, but the characters did interact.
