Organisations that can enter include schools, charities, community groups, sports clubs and societies.

The award is in conjunction with Barclays. It’s very easy to enter, just email competitions@lep.co.uk and state why you’re nominating your organisation, what you’d do with the money if you won and what your organisation does.

Or you can do it the old fashioned way and write to Heart of the Community, Lancashire Evening Post, Oliver’s Place, Fulwood, Preston, PR2 9ZA

Closing date for applications is November 20th 2009, so get writing! The entries will be judged by Barclays and Lancashire Evening Post readers (I sense a poll coming on!).

Well worth entering if you’re one of the organisations above and great to see Preston’s local newspaper doing something for the local community.
