Post-mortem shows Preston toddler Lia Green died from “significant internal injuries”

Police are continuing to question a man and a woman from Preston in connection with the murder of toddler Lia Green.

The 3-year-old girl died as a result of “significant internal injuries as a result of violence” according to a post mortem examination.

Police have released a photograph of Lia, above.

Officers were called to her home on Norris Street, Plungington, on Thursday 30 August after Lia was feeling unwell. She died on arrival at Royal Preston Hospital.

A 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been arrested and are being questioned by detectives.
