A teenager is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed numerous times.
AdvertisementA 17-year-old boy was seriously assaulted by a group of men on St Stephens Road, Deepdale.
The incident took place shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday when the boy was riding his bike.
He was approach by the group of men who attacked him and he received a number of stab wounds.
Police have arrested two men, aged 20 and 22, and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder and are in custody. All three are from Preston.
The group of men responsible are described as white, aged in ther late teens to early 20s and were wearing dark clothing.
Detective Inspector Jo Edwards who is leading the investigation said: “Detectives from Preston CID are currently investigating a serious assault which occurred in the Moor Park area of Preston on Saturday night. The victim was subjected to what can only be described as a ferocious assault which has left him with significant and life threatening injuries.
“We have made a number of arrests, but enquiries are still ongoing. I would like to reassure the public that incidents such as these are uncommon and our neighbourhood policing teams will be working closely with the local community to provide reassurance.
“The key to identifying the people responsible for this horrific attack will come from the community; therefore, I would urge anyone with any information to come forward. In particular, I am keen to speak with anyone who may have been in St Stephens Road area around 9.30pm on Saturday and who may have seen and can identify the offenders.”
