It’s almost that time of year again to remember, remember the 5th of November and celebrate Guy Fawkes Night.

The guy who carried a plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James the First. We remember his ‘Gunpowder Plot’ through the use of fireworks, bonfire parties and general celebrations. It’s really an excuse to have a firecracker of a party.

As every year, many professional organised displays take place in and around Preston. This year we have included events taking place a little further afield outside the city. If there any events we have missed let us know.

We will update later with any displays not yet announced in wider Lancashire, and you can view the displays on the map below and full details in the listings below.

Friday 1st November

Firework Fiesta Chorley

Bonfire & Firework display back in Astley Park organised by the Chorley Carnival Committee. Gates open at 5pm with Children’s Fun Fair, Catering facilities, live entertainment on stage. Admission by donation

Saturday 2nd November

Gregson Lane Playing Fields

Bonfire and fireworks. Gates open at 6.30pm. Fireworks will be set off at 7.45 pm.
Adults £3, Children £1. There will be hot food, tea, coffee and a bar available in Gregson Lane Community Centre.

Walton Le Dale Rec Preston

Bonfire and firework display on the Recreation Ground Higher Walton Road.
Gates open 6pm fire starts 6.30pm,fireworks 7.30pm
Adults £3 children under 12 £1 , everybody welcome. Refreshments available.

Huntley’s Charity Bonfire Night

Firework display and a raffle with prizes. Sausages, burgers & jacket potaotes will be served.
Gates open at 6.00pm with the bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks at 6.45pm.

Royal Umpire Caravan Park

A fantastic array of fireworks will light up the sky at Royal Umpire. Hot food also available.

Garstang Community Bonfire & Fireworks Display

This year’s event will take place on the High Street Car Park. The Bonfire will be lit at 7.00pm with the Firework Display starting at 7.30pm. The entrance price £3 per person with under-fives being admitted for free. Refreshments will be available.

Southport Hesketh Family Bonfire & Firework Display

Following the success of previous years, Southport Hesketh Round Table is once again organising a Family Bonfire and Grand Firework Display. Gates Open at 5pm. The money raised from this year’s event will be donated to Anthony Nolan Trust.
Fireworks start at 7:40pm. Fair Ground Catering Community Village, Fire Engine Displays Limo Rides Bouncy Castle.£5 per person – Under 11’s free.

1st Cottam Scouts Community Bonfire & Fireworks Display

Haydocks Lane, Cottam, Preston, PR4 0NY. Starting at 6:15pm, Fireworks at 7:00pm
Admission is Free but your donations fund this event. Catering from The Green Frog & Posts Ice Cream. Hot and cold drinks, tuck shop and Hot Pot.

Sunday 3rd November

Alston Hall Fireworks Display

Homemade Hot Pot & Mushy Peas available to purchase. Fully licensed bar.

Tuesday 5th November

Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club, Preston

The Annual Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Football Club bonfire and fireworks display returns! Gates Open 6pm. Bonfire Lit at 7pm. Fireworks at 8pm. £6 per person or £17 per family on the gate. Food and Bar will be available on the night.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service’s Training Centre

The annual Bonfire and Firework display.
Gates open at 6pm with the bonfire being lit at approximately 7pm and fireworks due to start at 7.30pm.
£3 per adult and £2 per child or £10 for a family of 5. There is also limited parking available.
