Preston Bus Station will take on a different use on Tuesday, as an event to promote health and well-being stops off.

The Connect 4 Life event will have stands from 20 local organisations in the building – including Preston Police, the county council’s volunteer hub and the British Red Cross.

It takes place between 10am and 3pm.

Basic first aid courses are to be offered, and the chance to make fruit smoothies using bicycle power is also taking place.

County Councillor Tony Martin, cabinet member for adult and community services said: “This is a great event for all Prestonians and local people, including those with long-term health problems who may be concerned about becoming isolated, as well as those just wanting to find out what it’s all about.

“It will give them a chance to meet other people and become involved with the community, while finding out more about some of the services available to them.”
