A Preston man is shaving the dreadlocks he has been growing for ten years in the name of charity.
AdvertisementMike Fallon who lives in Ashton is heading to his local barbershop on Saturday to have them shaved off.
Mike wants to raise hundreds of pounds for the Preston branch of the RSPCA.
His 39 dreadlocks currently measure three feet and it’s a brave barber in Declan’s barber shop on Fylde Road who have offered to take on the challenge.
Mike said: “This is going to be a huge change for me, as both my cat and I love my dreads dearly.
“The RSPCA Preston Branch don’t get a great deal of funding from the national RSPCA, so they rely greatly on support from the community and from volunteers.
“They do great work for abandoned, neglected and abused animals, and a huge part (to me) is that they pride themselves on having a non-destruction policy.”
Friends, colleagues and family have already pledged more than £380 to the cause.
