Another Indian restaurant is to be added to Preston’s curry eating scene.
AdvertisementThe Silk Route opens in mid-June on the site of the former Ming Dynasty Chinese restaurant on Strand Road, Riversway.
Ali Enayet one of the team behind the Silk Route said they hoped to be open by Wednesday 11 June.
He said: “We’re got some equipment on order so provided there are no delays we’ll be open.
“We have created a unique Indian menu along with traditional favourites. Some dishes have influences from countries along the silk route.”
A consortium of restaurant owners from the local area are back the new venture.
It will be one of Preston’s larger Indian restaurants, holding up to 200 diners.
The Silk Route is to be open from 5pm every day, and takeaway is available for collection only.
Ming Dynasty was closed in November after losing its licence and immigration officials found people living above the restaurant.
