Preston’s Museum of Lancashire was recently awarded a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.
The museum has consistently received glowing reviews on the popular travel rating website.
The Certificate of Excellence award is given to outstanding businesses that have received praise and recognition in reviews by TripAdvisor travellers. To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor.
Recent five out of five ratings on the site are accompanied by comments such as “What a fantastic place”, “Best small museum I have been to” and “a great time was had by all”.
Marcus Johnstone, County Councillor and cabinet member for environment, planning and cultural services, commented: “Congratulations to the staff at MoL for receiving a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor. It’s a superb attraction and it comes as no surprise to me that 93% of visitors have rated the museum as very good or excellent.
“There are a number of very interesting events coming up at the museum in the next couple of months which I have every confidence will attract more positive reviews.
“In particular, I’d be keen to see the two World War One exhibitions, Somewhere in France and Outbreak 1914 – and let’s not forget the Silverdale Hoard which is on display for the rest of the year.”
The museum is housed in the former Quarter Sessions House, one of Preston’s oldest buildings, the Museum of Lancashire.
