A local community magazine in Preston has been given a funding boost as it struggles to make ends meet.
AdvertisementThe Broadgate Magazine is delivered to 1,800 homes in the Broadgate area of the city every month.
It is put together by the Broadgate Residents Action Group but they say a fall in advertising income has put its future at risk.
The magazine includes local news, information and events taking place in the area.
A statement from Terry Murphy, chairman of the Residents Action Group, said: “It is simply a local magazine informing residents of what is going on in their community.
“It keeps them in touch with what is happening and invites them to join in with local events.
“We are losing about £50 per month at present. So the £250 would cover us for five months if we don’t get any new advertisers. But we are hoping to recruit more in that period.”
County councillor Yousuf Motala has approved a £250 grant from his local fund to the group.
