A graphic novel charting the early days of Preston North End is being put together.
AdvertisementIllustration is to be done by legendary Roy of the Rovers artist David Sque and words come from local writer Michael Barrett.
Set in the Victorian times it presents the days of PNE’s Invincibles.
As part of the novel there is a competition being run to feature in it.
The opening of the book includes a crowd scene and five male and five female winners could be featured.
Michael is running a raffle for PNE fans to buy a ticket for £1 to raise cash for The Baby Beat Appeal.
The charity, which helps care for babies born at the Sharoe Green maternity unit, has former PNE player and football pundit Mark Lawrenson among its patrons.
Lawrenson has agreed to write the foreword for The Rise of The Invincibles.
Tickets are on sale from the Preston North End club store, The Baby Beat Appeal Office at Sharoe Green Maternity Unit, Waterstones in Fishergate and the Guild Hall box office.
The raffle draw takes place at 3pm on Friday 22 May.
