Preston and South Ribble businesses are being urged to supercharge their broadband connections.
AdvertisementUp to £3,000 a time is available for firms to upgrade their connections.
Digital marketing agency Bespoke, based at South Rings Business Park in Bamber Bridge, has already cashed in.
Managing director Steve Brennan said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for us because the internet, like with so many other businesses in the area, lies at the core of what we do.
“By boosting our broadband we’ll be able to deliver higher quality work for clients faster, getting them better results – helping both ourselves and our customers to grow their company online.”
Application is online via the Connection Vouchers website.
Councillor Peter Rankin, leader of the city council, said: “Preston’s success is built on business, industry and commerce.
“Throughout our history Preston has always had the edge or competitive advantage. Three hundred years ago it was canals, 150 years later it was the railways and in the 20th Century it was motorways. Now, in this digital age it’s superfast broadband and internet access.
“Through this scheme we can bring high speed internet right to people’s offices and business premises, just like we have for Bespoke. It’s another boost for Preston that helps business to grow, flourish and also create jobs.”
Almost 100 businesses and organisations have claimed their voucher for funding between April and June this year.
