The canopy comes up Friargate

Cyclists brought a string of colour to Preston as the Lancashire Encounters Festival canopy arrived.

Flanked by cyclists across the city it was pedaled into the city through the University of Central Lancashire campus.

Moving up Friargate it has now been positioned on the Flag Market.

It will link together the Covered Markets, Birley Street, the former Post Office, Flag Market and the Harris.

A host of different arts events take place throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the festival.
