An elderly woman has died following a collision between a mobility scooter and a car in Ribbleton.

Preston Police confirmed the 76-year-old woman, originally reported as being 77, died in hospital from her injuries.

Police were called to Ribbleton Avenue, between Farringdon Lane and Ribbleton Hall Drive, at 6.50am on Tuesday.

They found a mobility scooter in the road and the elderly woman had suffered a head injury and two suspected broken legs.

she died in Royal Preston Hospital around 12noon on Tuesday.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting log number 0144 of October 20.
