Preston is set for another few days of potential travel disruption due to adverse weather.
AdvertisementThe Met Office has issued a warning of heavy rain throughout Thursday, which includes Preston and Lancashire.
Up to 20mm to 40mm of rain is expected to fall with river levels rising once more.
The chief forecaster advises there may be the risk of localised flooding due to the intensity of the rain.
While Friday currently looks clear the weekend is expected to see Preston take another battering from high winds.
Trees and branches may fall as gales of up to 70mph are possible in some areas during Saturday evening and into Sunday morning.
A statement from the Met Office says: “Some travel disruption is likely, with localised problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes. Be advised to drive with care, especially on exposed routes, and be aware of possible debris being blown around.”
